If you are a new self-publishing author, it is highly unlikely your first draft will be ready for the kinds of services I offer. I recommend you engage my services only after your manuscript has been through some kind of developmental editing, beta reading and/or critique. If you would like to engage my services for line editing, copy editing and proofreading, I ask that you organise your schedule to allow for two weeks between the editing and proofreading stages. Without this time away from your manuscript I am liable to see what I expect to see rather than approaching the task with fresh eyes. However, it is possible to combine the first two services to a certain extent, to save you both time and money in the long run.
I didn’t have the words BOOK WORM tattooed on my knuckles on a whim, and have been known to demolish a 700-page book in a day – as long as I neglect to eat . . . and feed my children! I enjoy many different genres of fiction, but the following are among my favourites:
- Dystopia & post-apocalyptic
- Graphic novels
- Action & adventure
- Short stories
- Fantasy & horror
- Children’s stories & literature
I have no issues with editing writing that contains scenes of graphic sex, violence or drug use, or other potentially contentious material. However, there are certain provisos regarding this that may be found in my Terms & Conditions.
